OPEN CALL: ASSEMBLE - North East

ASSEMBLE is a new international arts programme exploring the climate emergency at the intersection of involuntary migration, displacement, conflict and ecological decline. We are looking to host three Fellowships open to Artists, Curators and cultural practitioners with lived experience of involuntary migration or displacement. These are open to practitioners based in Cyprus, Spain (within the Basque Country) and Ukraine, seeking to (re)build their curatorial practice and networks across borders.

Cyprus, Capital of Culture, and Why ASSEMBLE Is at the Heart of It

25 Mar 2026

Larnaca — a city shaped by its own history of displacement — was named European Capital of Culture for 2030. Its winning theme, "Common Ground", is built around shared humanity, care, and the lived experience of being forced from home. ASSEMBLE's lead partner, D6:EU, is formally connected to the Larnaka 2030 programme — and that is no coincidence. This is the story of why ASSEMBLE exists, and what it is building towards.
