Art and Eco-social Crisis: Artistic Practice in Times of Collapse
A public talk by artist and researcher Marta Moreno Muñoz.
Friday 6 November · 18:30
Fundación BilbaoArte
In the context of the climate, ecological and civilisational crisis, understood as a time at the limit that reshapes the meaning of creation and of existence itself, Marta Moreno Muñoz will explore an artistic practice shaped by the transformation of subjectivity, deep adaptation and political action. She will draw on her recent work, linked to climate activism: 2020: The Walk, a climate pilgrimage on foot, and La fuente, a visual essay and performative practice in a context of extreme drought. To close, she will introduce the Escuela Nómada de Preparación Comunitaria ante el Colapso (Nomadic School for Community Preparedness for Collapse), a travelling lab bringing together art, eco-pedagogy and community practices.
Marta Moreno Muñoz (b. 1978) is an artist-researcher and eco-social activist.
