Bio
Roya Ghassemi’s art practice is interdisciplinary, working across mixed media including ceramics, storytelling, drawing, photography, print, and digital art. Her work explores human experience, memory, the environment, wellbeing, and connection through material and conversational forms. Deeply shaped by her life story, migration, and lived experiences, her practice reflects an ongoing exploration of belonging, identity, and the relationship between personal and collective experiences.
Roya uses art as a language to express emotions, thoughts, and ideas, transforming personal experiences into shared forms of expression. Her practice follows an experimental and research-based approach, where curiosity, observation, and process shape the work. Rather than being limited by particular materials or mediums, she moves freely between them, allowing ideas to evolve organically, sometimes extending beyond artistic outcomes into products, systems, or startup initiatives.
